What is being returned
Cashback pays back a share of net losses recorded over a fixed window, usually a week or a month. The calculation takes what went into the account, subtracts what came out and what remains on the balance, and applies a percentage to the difference. Nothing is required from the player beyond having played: no fresh deposit, no code, and on many schemes no opt-in either. That is precisely why it is the most benign promotion in the catalogue.
